Pontiac Historic Services (PHS)

Information about my car's specifications from Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) tracking documents using my Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

When you are buying a Pontiac, it is wise to get the Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) to run the Vehicle Identification Number and send you the specifications of the car from their factory documents.

No real surprises here - a very highly optioned car - but this confirms that these options were added to the car at the Factory - not by an enthusiast.

It was also nice to confirm my car is a very rare original YH code 389 HO Automatic.  The second owner of my car only wanted the engine and transmission - which he had rebuilt and put in his 56 Pontiac.  I never thought I would get the opportunity to buy the original engine and transmission so I originally planned to replace these with a 421 HO engine and T400 Transmission.

The interior was always black and the gold colour you can see coming through the red paint job is what was original to the car.

Also interesting to confirm the car was ordered without rear wheel covers - personally I love having these and I have since added them to the car.
